Mr. Patrick Mwai is a public health communication and advocacy specialist with over 15 years’ experience. He is the Executive Director-DeckerMed Africa Trust where he is supporting efforts to eradicate Neglected surgical Diseases (NSDs) in Kenya. He has worked with both local and International organizations namely; Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO), Pathfinder International, PATH International and also as a HIV prevention Advocacy fellow with the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC). Patrick has also served as the Regional Advocacy Officer-East, Central and Southern Africa with the Global Alliance for Surgical Obstetric, Trauma and Anaesthesia Care (G4 Alliance) where he had extensive experience working in collaboration with the Governments of Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia.

Prior to joining the DeckerMed Africa Trust, Patrick was the Country Director at the International Collaboration for Essential Surgery (ICES).

Patrick is a MPH candidate at the University of Nairobi. He holds a BA in Sociology and Communication from the same university and a Diploma in Management of Information Systems from Strathmore University.
